Is Rayver Cruz courting Sarah Geronimo?

Lots of young male celebrities are raring to court versatile actress-singer Sarah Geromino, including Rayver Cruz. The dancer-actor had been very vocal about wanting to do a duet with the Pop Star Princess for some time now; hence, he couldn’t hide his elation when his dream performance came true during his birthday bash on ASAP ‘08 last July 20.

Many people noticed the sparkle in his eyes while he and Sarah were singing No Air. Even Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino remarked about it when Rayver appeared in an episode of Boy and Kris recently. But the good-looking actor was merely all smiles at the time, refusing to divulge anything on the subject. All he was willing to share was that he was really happy to be able to perform with the talented Sarah G.

ABS-CBN.com caught up with him during his birthday press con with the other Star Magic birthday celebrants last July 30. When asked if he was going to pursue the female star of A Very Special Love, Rayver revealed, “Hindi naman siguro pormahan agad. Gusto mo muna maging close sa isang tao bago mo siguro [ligawan]. Mabait kasi siya.”But does he really have plans to court her? “Balak pero gusto ko maging close muna kami kasi mabait din siya eh,” the young actor reiterated. Rayver further listed down what he likes most about her. “Mabait… Siyempre sobrang galing niyang kumanta… Nasa kanya naman lahat eh.”

Does this mean he no longer has any hang-ups after what happened with his one-time love team partner Shaina Magdayao? Rayver unflinchingly answered, “Wala na. Okay na lahat.” He just doesn’t want to rush things at this point in time. Knowing that Sarah has yet to have her first boyfriend may also be one of the reasons why he’d rather take things slow. For now, Rayver wishes to get closer to her. “Nagkakausap kami sa ASAP [pero] hindi pa namankamimasyadong [close]. Pero sana [maging close na kami], ‘di ba?” he said.
